Coronavirus Update- 5 New Cases, Need an Absentee Ballot? & Case Data

October 30th–The following are highlights from today’s CT DPH report versus yesterday’s October 29th report. 

  • Wilton: 5 new cases. 
  • Statewide: 761 new cases.  2.5% of tests reported were positive. 
  • Fairfield County:  260 new cases.  
  • Hospitalized Patients: Statewide, 8-net patient increase. Fairfield County,  6-net patient increase.
  • Deaths: Statewide, 7.  Fairfield County, 1.

Wearing a mask, even when with extended family members or close friends, is the most important thing you can do to protect yourself and others from the virus.  

Need an Absentee Ballot?

The Town Clerk will be at the vestibule entrance to Town Hall tomorrow, Saturday October 31st, for any resident interested in obtaining a ballot.  To facilitate receiving your ballot, please complete the application prior to arrival at Town Hall. Applications are available online on this link.  You can fill out your ballot in the privacy of your car and then deposit it in the ballot box outside of Police Headquarters.   

Detailed Case Data:

The CT Data Center reported the following for Wilton as of 8:30 p.m. October 29th and versus the dates prior to the start of Phase 1 and Phase 2:

  • 302 cases, 100 additional since June 16th and 107 since May 19th.
  • 5,407 residents tested or 30%.  4,257 since June 16th and 4,657 since May 19th.  
  • 8,454 tests performed, 6,745 since June 16th .
  • 42 deaths, 1 since June 16th and 5 since May 19th.

CT DPH reported the following for Fairfield County and Statewide as of 8:30 p.m. October 29th:

  • 24,155 cases, 7,774 additional since 6/16      71,207 cases, 25,778 additional since 6/16
  • 1,436 deaths, 84 additional since 6/16           4,616 deaths, 397 additional since 6/16
  • 83 hospitalized, 15 more than 6/16                329 hospitalized, 143 more than 6/16
