Coronavirus Update- New Case, Area Case Growth, 2nd Food Box Distribution & Case Data

October 11th –The following are highlights from today’s CT DPH report versus Thursday’s October 8th report: 

  • Wilton: 1 new case.  
  • Statewide: 1,339 new cases.  273 new cases were attributed to catch-up reporting of cases from September 26 to October 8th and 1,066 as currently new. 1.4% of current tests performed reported positive. 
  • Hospitalized Patients: Statewide, 27-net patient increase. Fairfield County, 18-net patient increase.
  • Deaths: Statewide, 5.  Fairfield County, 1.

Statewide and within Fairfield County, the growth rate for new cases continued to increase during the first 11 days in October.  As per the chart below, the cities drove growth in our area.

Detailed Case Data:

The CT Data Center reported the following for Wilton as of 8:30 p.m. October 11th and versus the dates prior to the start of Phase 1 and Phase 2:

  • 269 cases, 62 additional since June 16th and 68 since May 19th.
  • 4,792 residents tested, 3,642 since June 16th and 4,042 since May 19th.  
  • 7,083 tests performed, 5,631 since June 16th .
  • 42 deaths, 1 since June 16th and 5 since May 19th.

CT DPH reported the following for Fairfield County and Statewide as of 8:30 p.m. October 11th:

  • 21,052 cases, 4,671 additional since 6/16      61,377 cases, 15,948 additional since 6/16
  • 1,426 deaths, 74 additional since 6/16           4,532 deaths, 313 additional since 6/16
  • 42 hospitalized, 26 less than 6/16                   155 hospitalized, 31 less than 6/16
