December 27, 2021 Update: COVID-19 Impacts Town Staffing, At-Home Test Kits, Vaccination Rates

As is occurring with businesses across the state, the escalation of COVID-19 has resulted in a number of town administrative employees being home sick.  If you need to conduct administrative business with the Town, please be understanding and patient, as it may take a bit longer. Emergency services will continue to be delivered at their normal pace

I encourage you to make use of the Town’s website for information and online services.  On the homepage, you will find a How Do I?, a Resident Action Center and a search function.  All are there to help you find the information you need, quickly and efficiently.

Tax bills will be mailed at the end of this week.  Please consider using the Town’s online payment portal.  There is no fee for ACH and check payments.  If you use your bank’s online payment service, please remember to reference the list number of the bill you are paying and update the payment address to Town of Wilton, Tax Collector, PO Box 150527, Hartford, CT  06115-0527. The legal notice is available here.

Today, Governor Lamont announced the State’s procurement and intent to distribute 500,000 at-home test kits.  In his announcement, the Governor did not provide distribution details, but we expect to be part of the effort.  Like the Governor, we recognize the possible impact of supply chain issues and will wait to announce details once we have definitive confirmation of the date of receipt of test kits.  Again because of staffing shortages, please wait for an announcement rather than calling to inquire.

Wilton’s vaccination rates continues to increase.  As of last Monday, 89% had initiated the vaccine and 79% were fully vaccinated.  The breakdown by age was as follows:
