Colleen Fawcett, LCSW, has been working at Wilton Youth Services since 1994.
She earned her Bachelor’s Degree at University of Rhode Island in 1987 majoring in Psychology with a minor in Art. She went on to work as a teacher in private schools in Stamford, CT, first as a 4th grade teacher, then taught art and physical education to pre-K through 8th graders. Many of her students came to her with complicated problems that Colleen wanted to help them overcome, inspiring her to further her education. While at Columbia, Colleen worked at Kids in Crisis in Greenwich, CT as a crisis intervention specialist, residential counselor, and assisting in the development of the new nursery shelter including staff training and policy development. After 5 years with Kids in Crisis, Colleen began work as Wilton’s Youth Services Coordinator where she has since focused her energies on community collaborations, needs assessment, developing programs, and counseling children, teens and their parents. In addition to her work with the town of Wilton, Colleen maintains a small private psychotherapy practice.
