Coronavirus Update-New Case, Reminders, Conservation Commission Newsletter & Case Data

September 11th– The following are highlights from today’s CT DPH report versus the September 9th report: 

  • Wilton: 1-net new case. 
  • Statewide:  455 new cases. 1.2% of tests performed reported positive.
  • Hospitalized Patients: Statewide, 6-net patient decrease. Fairfield County, 2-net patient decrease.
  • Deaths: Statewide, 6.  Fairfield County, 1.

During the month of July, 999 unique Wilton residents were tested. Of those, 8 unique residents were positive. A positive rate of .80% .  During the first 10 days of September, 268 unique Wilton residents were tested.  Of those, 7 unique residents were positive.  A positive rate of 2.6%.  Although, 2.6% is a relatively low rate, the tripling of the rate is a reminder that we must continue to be vigilant. Please,

  • Watch your distance
  • Wear a mask/face covering when you can’t maintain 6 feet of distance
  • Wash your hands

If you have traveled to an affected state or Guam, please self-quarantine as is required.  Self-quarantine means you stay home, separate yourself from others in your household and monitor your health.  The 72-hour test is only an option in limited circumstances.  Please be sure to read all the FAQs before traveling. 

Yesterday, CT DPH released test results from mid-July to September 8th for nursing home and assisted living residents. No individuals residing in Wilton facilities tested positive.

Detailed Case Data:

The CT Data Center reported the following or Wilton as of 8:30 p.m. September 10th and versus the dates prior to the start of Phase 1 and Phase 2:

  • 255 cases, 48 additional since June 16th and 55 since May 19th.
  • 3,941 residents tested, 2,791 since June 16th and 3,191 since May 19th.  
  • 5,533 tests performed, 4,081 since June 16th .
  • 42 deaths, 1 since June 16th and 5 since May 19th.

CT DPH reported the following for Fairfield County and Statewide as of 8:30 p.m. September 10th:

  • 19,306 cases, 2,925 additional since 6/16      54,326 cases, 8,897 additional since 6/16
  • 1,418 deaths, 66 additional since 6/16           4,480 deaths, 261 additional since 6/16
  • 11 hospitalized, 57 less than 6/16                   51 hospitalized, 135 less than 6/16
