Dog Licenses

All dogs over the age of six months and living in Wilton must be vaccinated for rabies and licensed by the Town Clerk.  The license is good from July 1 through June 30 and must be renewed during the month of June.  Each month after that there is a dollar ($1.00) a month penalty added on to the original fee.  Please refer to Connecticut General Statute Sec. 22-338 for more information.

Dog Licenses Fees:

  • $8/year, neutered or spayed
  • $19/year, non-neutered or non-spayed
  • $.50 Replacement Tag

To obtain a new dog license:

1. Complete a dog license application (click here). 

2. Bring the completed application with copy of rabies vaccination certificate, copy of spay/neuter certificate (if applicable) and check or money order payable to Town of Wilton to the Wilton Town Clerk during business hours.  You may alternatively mail the completed application, copy of rabies vaccination certificate, copy of spay/neuter certificate (if applicable), check or money order payable to Town of Wilton, and self-addressed stamped envelope to Wilton Town Clerk.

To renew a dog license:

2. You can also renew a dog license in person or by mail at the Wilton Town Clerk's office. You must provide a current copy of rabies vaccination certificate.  You can bring a copy of the rabies vaccination certificate to Wilton Town Clerk during business hours or you can alternatively mail a copy of rabies vaccination certificate to Wilton Town Clerk.
