Coronavirus Update- Roads, Friday and Weekend Events & Case Data

December 17th- Thank you to Wilton’s DPW drivers who have been out since last night plowing and salting roads.  Drivers are performing their final pass for the evening and will be back early tomorrow morning as temperatures are expected to remain below freezing tonight and into the morning.  Drivers plowed approximately 127 miles of town-owned roads.  Most roads received three passes in both directions.

For this storm, the department began the rollout of new GIS tracking software, which provided improved safety for drivers and facilitated plow management.  This was just one of a number of technology-based initiatives implemented over the last four years to provide improved or more transparent services to residents.  Speaking of which, if you have a post-storm issue, please report it through SeeClickFix, either online or on your mobile device.

Tomorrow’s Drive-Thru Holiday Celebration with Santa begins at 4:00 p.m. outside the Comstock Community Center.  Shop Local, Win Local  continues through Saturday.  Eat Local, Win Local begins on Sunday.  There is still time to drop off letters to Santa.  Please include a return address if you would like your child to receive a response from “Santa”.  Santa has plenty of helpers.
