CT Coronavirus Cases Almost Double Overnight-Practice Social Distancing

March 14th- Please respect and follow our Health Director's recommendations.  At about this time last Saturday, I learned Wilton might have the first coronavirus case in CT.  That was confirmed on Sunday. Last night, there were 11 cases.  Today, there are 20 cases and a backlog of samples waiting for testing.  Fifteen of the confirmed cases are in Fairfield County.  According to news reports, one of today's patients is the father of a Darien Pee Wee hockey player.

After we learned Wilton parents had been in direct contact with a patient that tested positive, Wilton Public Schools, Comstock Community Center, Trackside, Wilton Library, the Wilton Y, Wilton churches and more were closed in an effort to contain the spread of the virus.

It's the weekend, but parents please keep your children at home. If you can't avoid leaving your home, please limit your contact to a small group.  Maintain six feet between you and another individual.  If that is not possible, try to maintain a minimum of three feet.  If you can, work at home. Follow the three concepts behind NPI (non pharmaceutical intervention) detailed in Sunday's recommendations.

Every resident has a responsibility to limit the spread of this virus.  Thank you for doing your part for your community and your state.
