Democratic and Republican Presidential Preference Primaries April 2, 2024

Secretary of the State Stephanie Thomas has announced that Connecticut will hold both Democratic and Republican Presidential Preference Primaries on April 2, 2024.  All voters will vote at the Clune Center at Wilton High School, 395 Danbury Road which will be open from 6 am to 8 pm.  Voters who usually vote at Cider Mill School and Middlebrook School will vote at the Clune Center at Wilton High School. Connecticut law requires that voters must be enrolled party members to vote in primary elections.  You may check your current voter registration status and party affiliation, by going to the Wilton Registrars’ Voter Look-Up site at https://www.wiltonct.org/registrar-voters/pages/voter-look-voting-distri...

 

For the first time ever, registered Democrats and Republicans will be able to use Early Voting for the 2024 Presidential Preference Primary.  Early Voting will take place on Tuesday, March 26, Wednesday, March 27, Thursday, March 28 and Saturday, March 30 from 10 am to 6 pm in Town Hall Room B, 238 Danbury Road.  If you chose to vote early you will need to show the same type of ID as you would show at the polls.  Contact the Registrars of Voters at 203-563-0111 with questions about voting.

Joe Biden

Uncommitted

 

The Secretary of the State has announced that the candidates will appear on the Republican ballot in the following order:

 

Ron DeSantis

Nikki Haley

Donald J. Trump

Ryan Binkley

Uncommitted

 

Absentee ballots will become available on March 12, 2024.

 

Check below for applicable deadlines. 

• Friday, March 15, 2024. Mail-in and online deadline for new voters or unaffiliated voters to join a political party in order to vote in that party’s primary election. You may register online at voterregistration.ct.gov. To be eligible to vote in a primary, unaffiliated voters must have been unaffiliated for 90 days before enrolling in a party.

 

• Monday, April 1, 2024 at 12 noon –In person enrollment deadline, for new voters and unaffiliated voters enrolling in a party in person at Town Hall, for voting in a primary.

 

• There is no Election Day Registration for the primaries!
