Storm & Coronavirus Update-Revised Transfer Station and Town Hall/Annex/Comstock Schedules, Vaccine Info & Case Date

February 1st-The Wilton Police and Public Works Departments continue to ask all non-emergency residents to remain off the roads for your own safety and that of emergency personnel.

Due to the storm, the following changes are in place for tomorrow, Tuesday, February 2, 2021:

  • Town administrative services will remain remote only, with no drop-box services.  Email or call the department for service.
  • The Transfer Station will remain closed Tuesday.   The Transfer Station will reopen on Thursday and because of closures, will also be open Friday, February 5th from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday, February 6th from 9 a.m. to noon.

Vaccine Information

CT DPH released updated vaccination rates by municipality as of this morning.

  • Wilton, 75 and Up:  84.7% vaccinated with a first dose.  Only 189 remaining Wilton residents aged 75 and up require a first dose.
  • Wilton, all residents: 9.53% vaccinated with a first dose.

At his press conference today, the Governor gave a shout out to Wilton for being one of the “champs” in vaccinations. Unfortunately, less than 50% of all CT residents 75 and up have received a vaccine and our major cities have rates of less than 30%.

This week, the State expects to receive 57,000 first doses and 41,000 second doses. Those first doses are not enough to vaccinate the more than 125,000 remaining CT residents aged 75 and up.

Consistent with that math, the Governor announced residents aged 65 to 74 should expect to become eligible for appointment booking within the next 10 to 14 days.  Please do not book an appointment now in anticipation of becoming eligible.  You risk being cancelled and ending up further back in line.

Wednesday’s vaccine clinic is still expected to proceed as planned, with the vaccines scheduled to arrive tomorrow.  If there is a delay in receipt, Social Services will contact all residents with a scheduled appointment. If you aren’t contacted, then it is a go.  Wilton clinic vaccines and concierge appointment booking assistance is only available to residents 75 and up.  We are not maintaining a waitlist for residents under age 75.
