Update-CT DOT Paving of Danbury Road (RT 7)

Many of you have reached out about the delay in the paving of the state-owned Danbury Road (RT 7).

Unlike the Town of Wilton, which contracts with one vendor for both milling and paving, Connecticut Department of Transportation (CT DOT) contracts with two vendors.  One to perform the milling work and a second to perform the paving work.

We are in regular contact with CT DOT.  The delay is the result of delays on the part of the paving contractor.  Paving was scheduled to begin at the start of this week.  Through last night, the vendor had postponed each day.

When paving begins, CT DOT will post messages on the digital message boards located at Gaylord Drive North and the North Entrance of Wilton High School.  Paving hours will be from 7:00pm to 5:30am, Sunday night through Friday morning.  Paving is expected to require two weeks, assuming no significant weather delays.   Paving can’t be performed when it is raining.  Unfortunately, rain is forecasted for tonight and through next week. Questions should be directed to the State Inspector’s office at (203) 389-3035.

If you have incurred damage, you can submit a claim to CT DOT. Information is on this link: Submitting a Claim (ct.gov).
