How We Feel App

How We Feel App

The How We Feel app anonymously provides scientists with critical and real time health information needed to understand the spread of COVID-19.  Data from How We Feel will help the State of CT Department of Health better understand if COVID-19 illness is emerging in a community, identify new populations that are at risk, and measure the efficacy of public health measures such as social distancing.

Users self-report basic health information into the app once per day through a series of short prompts (it only takes 30 seconds).  The app lets you self-report age, sex, zip code and any health symptoms you are experiencing.  The app does not ask you to sign in or share your name, phone number or email address.

The app is available to download for free on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Users can also self-report their health information on the web at howwefeel.app.

Governor Ned Lamont announced on April 20, 2020 that the State of Connecticut is partnering with the developers of the How We Feel app in an effort to anonymously provide scientists with critical health information needed to understand the spread of COVID-19.  The How We Feel app was developed by leading health experts from several institutions, including Harvard University, MIT, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Weizmann Institute of Science.
